Tynecot cemetery outside Ypres on the site of the Passchendaele battlefield is the largest Commonwealth war grave in the world. There are 11,908 graves within the cemetery and on the back walls the names of another 34, 927 missing are recorded. Of the graves more than two thirds are unknown. The Memorial Cross is built over the remains of a German concrete bunker.
There is a small visitors centre which is very poignant.
