Original British Red Cross Society Medal Kings Crown WWII Three Years Service
Original Red Cross Society Medal
A British Red Cross Society gilt and enamel Three Year Service Medal made by Gaunts of London and numbered 15411.
The ribbon holds three 3 year service bars so I assume this is for 9 years service.
Excellent condition with original ribbon and all the gilt and enamel present.
King's Crown WWII. Makers mark J.R Gaunt and serial number inscribed to the back.
The Badge was instituted in 1922 to be awarded to officers and members of the British Red Cross on completion of three years’ service. From 1931 onward, a bar was awarded for each subsequent three years’ service up to a maximum of twelve years. The Badge was discontinued in 1955.
