Mud Corner

Mud Corner Cemetery on the edge of Ploegsteert Woods near Messines in Belgium is a small graveyard holding the remains of 85 Australian and New Zealand troops, bar one. Mainly in use during 1917 when New Zealand troops captured Messines. Buried here is a Private Alexander McKenzie, a Kiwi veteran of both the Boer War and Gallipoli. Killed June 27th 1917 aged 47.
